See User contribution events for available types for the action parameter. These options are in lowercase.

Target types

History

Available target types for the target_type parameter are:

epic. Your administrator must have enabled the new look for epics.
issue.
milestone.
merge_request.
note - Some notes on merge requests may be of the type DiscussionNote, instead of Note. DiscussionNote items are not available using the API.
project.
snippet.
user.

These options are in lowercase. Some epic features like child items, linked items, start dates, due dates, and health statuses are not available using the API. Some discussions on merge requests may be of type DiscussionNote. These are not available using the API.

Date formatting

Dates for the before and after parameters should be supplied in the following format:

List currently authenticated user’s events

Get a list of events for the authenticated user. Scope read_user or api is required. Events associated with epics are not available using the API.

GET /events

Parameters:

Attribute	Type	Required	Description
`action`	string	no	Include only events of a particular action type
`target_type`	string	no	Include only events of a particular target type
`before`	date	no	Include only events created before a particular date. View how to format dates.
`after`	date	no	Include only events created after a particular date. View how to format dates.
`scope`	string	no	Include all events across a user’s projects.
`sort`	string	no	Sort events in `asc` or `desc` order by `created_at`. Default is `desc`.

Get user contribution events

Get the contribution events for the specified user, sorted from newest to oldest. Scope read_user or api is required. Events associated with epics are not available using API.

GET /users/:id/events

Parameters:

Attribute	Type	Required	Description
`id`	integer	yes	The ID or Username of the user
`action`	string	no	Include only events of a particular action type
`target_type`	string	no	Include only events of a particular target type
`before`	date	no	Include only events created before a particular date. View how to format dates.
`after`	date	no	Include only events created after a particular date. View how to format dates.
`sort`	string	no	Sort events in `asc` or `desc` order by `created_at`. Default is `desc`.
`page`	integer	no	The page of results to return. Defaults to 1.
`per_page`	integer	no	The number of results per page. Defaults to 20.

List a Project’s visible events

This endpoint has been around longer than the others. Documentation was formerly located in the Projects API pages.

Get a list of visible events for a particular project.

GET /projects/:project_id/events

Parameters:

Attribute	Type	Required	Description
`project_id`	integer/string	yes	The ID or URL-encoded path of the project
`action`	string	no	Include only events of a particular action type
`target_type`	string	no	Include only events of a particular target type
`before`	date	no	Include only events created before a particular date. View how to format dates.
`after`	date	no	Include only events created after a particular date. View how to format dates.
`sort`	string	no	Sort events in `asc` or `desc` order by `created_at`. Default is `desc`.
